Home Network Activity Monitor?

July 10th 2010 | Posted by admin

I have a wireless router that connects two desktop cpu s via lan and other devices via wifi like my iphone and a laptop. My question is this: Can I see what websites the other devices are consulting from one device (i use mostly one of the two desktops) keep in mind that i want more than just network usage and without having a monitoring software in each device. Also is it possible to do so just with a MAC address

If u need real-time monitoring then there isn’t any better way than to use VNC software like RealVNC (www.realvnc.com) Hmmm, if you are willing to invest some money into it, commercial software like Netsupport (www.netsupport-inc.com) has support over a number of devices including Iphone’s and pocketpc. If you do not require real time monitoring then the Parental Controls feature in Windows Vista and & should be quite sufficient in keeping a record of all activities like websites and even application installs and uninstalls… Other than that, I really don’t think there is anyway to monitor a computer without installing monitoring software on it…
Hope this helps… :)
